The existing administration space and storage on the Cellar level of the North Wing were converted into a Mammography unit for outpatients and a few inpatients. The multi-phased occupied renovation required careful planning and coordination between the hospital, the contractor, and the design team. Construction work occurred mainly during business hours with noisy and utility-related work occurring in the evenings and weekends.

The new Mammography unit consists of patient changing areas, gown waiting area, 1 mammography room, 1 stereotactic room, and 1 ultrasound room all within a main suite. Public waiting and administration were converted from the former Radiology administration room. Additionally, the existing reading room and corridors were renovated. A new patient toilet and Mammography doctor’s office were created out of several adjoining offices.
