The study for Sea View Hospital was to determine the feasibility of converting the presently vacant 100,000 sf Nurses Residence to a supportive apartment complex. The building is a New York City landmark and an exterior restoration is presently scheduled under a separate contract. The program of the New York City Health & Hospitals Corporation (NYC HHC) with Sea View Hospital Rehabilitation & Home was to provide 100 apartment units with associative and support services, apartments and a residential component, activity space and building facility services. The scope of the work and services included code analysis, architectural structural and mechanical requirements, as well as a detailed cost estimate report. The study was concluded in August 2002. The consultant team consisted of Mechanical, Structural, and Cost Estimating. |
